Cornell's Peruvian Weaver - Her TeethThe image to the right shows her upper jaw, with missing teeth and an abcess. The tooth sockets that have a clear-cut and even edge (incisors and canines) held teeth that were lost after death - you can see an incisor and a molar still in place. The sockets that have "bubbly" appearing bone in them (white arrow), and poorly defined edges, became infected, and the teeth were lost before she died. The area around her pre-molars appears to have had an active infection at the time she died, and it possible that she died from this infection.
